Stanley Park is Vancouver's first and most beloved urban park. Its huge green area provides a ton of different activities for people of all ages. Here are the most important things to do while you're here:
1. Ride the Miniature Train
Kids and adults will enjoy riding this replica of the train from Canada's first transcontinental railway. One of the most popular attractions in the park, this train moves approximately 20,000 passengers every year.
2. Stop and Smell the Flowers
From the spring to the fall the flowers are in bloom across the four floral gardens within the park. Depending on which garden you visit you can see everything from rhododendrons to roses to flowering trees and even flowers blooming around boulders and rocks.
3. Visit the Famous Landmarks
The Totem Poles, Lost Lagoon, Siwash Rock, Hollow Tree, Prospect Point, and Brockton Point Lighthouse are all famous landmarks that cannot be missed. Grab a map and your camera and make sure you visit them all!
4. See the Seawall
One of Vancouver's top tourist attractions, the seawall offers 22 km of walking or biking with views that can't be beat!
5. Dine Al Fresco
With cafés and restaurants offering a variety of cuisines to locals and tourists, no visit is complete without enjoying some fare outside in the lovely open air and gazing out at the green area. Or, if you'd rather, bring a picnic basket and enjoy some lunch wherever you find a nice quiet spot.
